Blue After the Rain (Marimba)

Blue After the Rain is a beautiful marimba 4 minute marimba solo for the intermediate performer. The piece employs a complex triplet pattern which can s-. The piece starts with a soft chorale, which swells until the fortissimo attack into the main tempo. From there the player breathes life into the triplet pattern that grows and wanes throughout. With performer notes such as “like floating in the deep sky,” Blue After the Rain is as much about the performer’s emotion as it is about the obvious technical challenges.
