Gert Mortensen – March Cadenza is a rudimental snare drum solo that combines some very old traditions (slow-fast-slow single stroke rolls) with concert-style writing.
This solo also contains a fair amount of stick trickery and some effects to add to the experience.

Gert Mortensen was born in Denmark in 1958. He was trained in the prestigious soloist class at The Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen and is now professor, head of timpani and percussion, the same place.
