Moore III (b.1986)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Marimba<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b><i>Halley\u2019s Comet<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was composed in the summer of 2015 as the obligatory piece for the \u201cI CONCURSO PARA MARIMBA MAESTRO ZEFERINO NANDAYAPA\u201d held in Para\u00edba, Brazil. The title of the work comes from a periodic comet that orbits the sun and was discovered by English astronomer, Edmond Halley. Halley\u2019s comet is visible from Earth every 75-76 years and was seen in 1986, my birth year. My goal was to sonically portray, on marimba, the brief visible beauty of the comet. &#8212;\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Joe W.
