This fast, showy duet for alto saxophone and 4-1\/2 octave marimba has both performers play equal roles. \u00a0The marimba technique includs close interval sticking as well as independent rolls, and the saxophone uses the unique technique of a tongue slap, for a popping sound. You can hear a recording of \u201cRazdraz\u201d on Daniel McCarthy\u2019s CD, \u201cSong of Middle Earth\u201d (also available from C. Alan). \u00a0The piece is a grade 4 piece intended for intermediate to advanced players<\/p>\n
