He has composed solo, chamber and orchestral works; musical theater, dance and film music; and music for television networks in France and Germany. S\u00e9journ\u00e9\u2019s works are largely percussion-oriented. His major works include\u00a0<em>Concerto for Marimba and String Orchestra, Concerto for Vibraphone<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Martian Tribes<\/em>\u00a0for percussion quartet,\u00a0<em>Losa\u00a0<\/em>for marimba and vibraphone duo, and\u00a0<em>Sosso-Bala<\/em>\u00a0for eight percussionists. Some of S\u00e9journ\u00e9\u2019s pieces are very clever, \u201cgroovy,\u201d and \u201ccatchy.\u201d\u00a0<em>Venin<\/em>\u00a0calls for two snare drummers with body movements required of both players. The piece starts with dramatic facial expressions that give an impression of \u201cturning on and off\u201d from the eyes and mouth.
