This programmatic piece describes the Ancient Greek myth where Prometheus steals fire from Zeus. There are seven stories/movements that depict the legend quite nicely. Sticks, brushes, and rods are required as well as different snare drums to fit the mood of each chapter. It was written for and premiered by Evelyn Glennie.
