This piece depicts the soul of an elderly woman being carried off into the “other” realm. It follows the scripts of a ritual used by an old civilization in the old, remote southwest culture of the United States. It is a four mallet marimba solo, that also contains versions for Solo Marimba and Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and Percussion Ensemble. It is written for a 5 octave marimba but also contains edits for a Low E marimba.
