Drum Dances, written in 1993 for drum kit and piano, is an amazing feat of innovative rhythmic writing and clearly shows the composer’s love of jazz and rock music. It was commissioned by the acclaimed Scottish percussionist Evelyn Glennie and is now considered to be a standard work in any percussionist’s repertoire.
