For solo marimba, written as a commissioning project lead by Payton MacDonald. The work is
an extremely atonal piece in sets of variations, though not strictly 12-tone. The variations of the
piece are hard to discern, although there are many varied homophonic and polyphonic textures
throughout the piece. Perhaps the biggest challenge of the piece is making the separate voices
clear, while they are constantly overlapping with each other.
